In the future, we want to continue working even harder for farmers and the agriculture industry," Modi stated in a statement.

What is PM-KISAN Nidhi

A central government programme called PM-KISAN Nidhi was introduced in December 2018 with the goal of assisting farmers with their income by giving them Rs 6,000 in financial support each year. Through Direct Benefit Transfer, the funds are transferred into the beneficiaries' bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. As of today, over 93 million farmers have received the 16th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana, worth Rs 2000.
